Henry S. Cocklin papers, 1908-1977.

This collection consists of a variety of materials, all pertaining to Cocklin's involvement with Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) or his time as a Penn State student. It includes the "History of Eta Kappa Nu," written by Larry Dwon, in both manuscript and published form, several copies of Bridge, the HKN magazine. There are also letters of correspondence between Cocklin and other members of Eta Kappa Nu, usually pertaining to a directory of members and Dwon's "History." Documenting his time at Penn State are several portraits of friends, and photographs of class gatherings and Old Main. Photographs include his residence and class scraps, such as the "Push-ball scrap" and the "Flagpole-scrap." A scrapbook holds some of these photographs, several banquet and dance cards, and photo negatives for photographs taken on Penn State's campus.

Henry Shelley Cocklin, of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, received a bachelor's degree from Penn State in electrical engineering with the class of 1914 and was an active member of Eta Kappa Nu. Cocklin spent thirty-seven years, starting in November 1917, in the field of aeronautics, with seventeen years in design and twenty years in operating maintenance. From the description of Henry S.
